APFIN is built from a small number of focused capabilities rather than a pile of buttons. Below is what each one does, why it exists, and what it changes for the person using it.
Capabilities, one at a time
Each capability below is described on its own so it's clear what it actually does, rather than folded into a generic feature list.
Structured feeds, normalized on arrival
Incoming information is parsed into a consistent internal format the moment it arrives, so downstream views and rules always work from the same shape of data — regardless of where it originated.
Benefit: fewer inconsistencies to reconcile manually, and a stable base for every other module to build on.
Conditions you define, applied consistently
You set the thresholds and conditions; the engine evaluates them the same way every time, without fatigue or drift. Rules can be layered, paused, or adjusted without rebuilding from scratch.
Benefit: decisions follow the logic you configured, not a slightly different version of it each session.
Notifications tied to your own criteria
Alerts trigger only when the conditions you've set are met — no generic noise, no unrelated pings. Each alert links back to the exact rule that fired it.
Benefit: attention goes where it's actually needed, and the reasoning behind every notification is traceable.
A record of what happened, and when
Every configuration change, rule trigger, and alert is timestamped and kept in a readable log. Nothing is silently overwritten.
Benefit: if you need to reconstruct why something happened a certain way, the trail already exists.
Permissions scoped to what's needed
Access can be split by function — viewing, configuring, exporting — so a single account isn't an all-or-nothing key to everything in the system.
Benefit: fewer accidental changes, and clearer accountability when multiple people share a workspace.
Take your data with you
Views and logs can be exported in plain formats for use elsewhere — no lock-in, no proprietary file type required to read your own information back.
Benefit: APFIN stays a tool you use, not a place your data gets stuck.
Fewer moving parts, more control
Each module above is deliberately kept separate rather than merged into one opaque process. That means you can turn on only what's relevant, understand what each piece is doing, and adjust one without disturbing the rest.
The interface reflects that same principle: plain labels, visible values, and no hidden steps between a setting and its effect.

Feature-specific FAQ
Can I use only some of the modules?
Yes. Each capability described above can be enabled or left inactive independently — there's no requirement to configure the full set.
Do rules run automatically once set?
Rules evaluate continuously against incoming data once activated, but they only apply the logic you defined — they don't adjust themselves or add conditions on their own.
What happens to exported data?
Exports are generated in plain, non-proprietary formats and downloaded directly by you. APFIN does not retain a separate copy tied to the export action itself beyond normal account records.
Is the audit log editable?
No. The audit log is append-only by design so that historical entries remain a reliable record of what actually occurred.
How many access roles are available?
Access can be scoped by function rather than fixed named tiers, allowing permissions to be matched to how a given account is actually used.
